4. What happens if I was NOT a Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System employee prior to working with EAA and begin working for a Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System employer?
As a new member of the Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System, you will have a decision to make for your future retirement plan. You will have 75 calendar days from your first payroll end date in the Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System to decide which retirement plan best meets your needs: the Pension Plus retirement plan, or the Defined Contribution retirement plan. If you do not make an election you will default to the Pension Plus plan. See Public School Retirement Plans.
