David Cuevas (he/him) is a Michigan Reconnect Navigator for the students aged 21-24. He is assigned to advise Reconnectors who have interest in Glen Oaks Community College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Kellogg Community College, Lake Michigan College, Lansing Community College, Monroe County Community College, Southwestern Michigan College, Wayne County Community College District, and Jackson Community College. David has a passion for guiding marginalized groups to reach their fullest potential by utilizing his servant leadership skills. He has over 6 years of experience in mentoring, academic advising, financial aid, and career counseling. As a first-generation college student, David is a two-time alumnus from Western Michigan University, where he obtained a bachelor’s in Art and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership with an Educational and Global Leadership concentration. Go Broncos! Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife (Lizette), daughter (Annalis), and dog (Lola). He is originally from Saginaw, MI and currently resides in the Grand Rapids area. David is excited to continue doing the work that he loves in providing Michigan Reconnectors with the necessary resources as they are seeking a postsecondary education.
