Benton Harbor Community Members Encouraged to Take Survey About School District

Dec. 20, 2019

Benton Harbor community members are encouraged to take a survey as a part of the Benton Harbor Area Schools Community Engagement Advisory Committee’s continued efforts to assess the school district.

The 12-question survey takes around five minutes to complete. Individuals can share their ideas about improving the school district and attracting and retaining students, as well as advise the committee on the school district’s greatest strengths and weaknesses.

“We want to hear from you,” said Deputy State Treasurer Joyce Parker, committee chairperson. “The Benton Harbor community has a voice at our table. Please don’t wait. Take the survey today!”

The survey can be reached electronically at www.michigan.gov/engagecomm. Individuals can complete a paper version of the survey at all upcoming community outreach events or committee meetings.

All survey submissions must be received by Jan. 8, 2020.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding agreed to by the Benton Harbor Area Schools board, Michigan Department of Education and Michigan Department of Treasury, residents can expect the committee to engage with community members and review enrollment, academic programs, capital needs and other issues as members work openly and transparently.
