State of Michigan Assessor's Manuals:
MCL 211.10e requires all assessing officers to use only the official assessor's manual or any manual approved by the State Tax Commission. At their meeting on February 14, 2017, the State Tax Commission approved to distribute the 2014 manual to all assessors in 2017 with authorization for use in 2018. The STC also authorized continued use of the 2003 manual until the 2019 assessments. At that time, only the 2014 manual will be authorized for use.
At their meeting on June 6, 2017, the STC rescinded the current version of Volume III and authorized the release of the 2017 Volume III.
The 2024 updates to the 2014 manuals provided below are not overall changes to the base costs, but rather updates to correct any errors found during the first-year implementation of the manual and to provide clarity and more detail for some of the costs contained in the manual. These changes are automatically incorporated into the costs contained in CAMA systems through MMSVP.
