Opioid Use Disorder
The State of Michigan has made it a priority to increase access to quality treatment options for individuals with an opioid use disorder. An opioid can be a prescription drug, often referred to as painkillers, or an illicit substance, such as heroin.
If you or a loved one are in need of opioid use disorder treatment, please visit www.michigan.gov/opioids for available resources, or contact the SAMSHA National Hotline (treatment referral hotline) at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

Recovery Community Organizations
Recovery Community Organizations (RCO) help bridge the gap between professional treatment and building healthy and successful lives in long-term recovery. RCOs increase the visibility and influence of the recovery community and engage in core activities such as:
- Educating the public about the reality of recovery
- Advocating on behalf of the recovery community
- Delivering peer recovery support services
For information on how to become a recognized Recovery Community Organization (RCO), please contact the Association of Recovery Community Organizations (ARCO) at Faces & Voices of Recovery online or by calling 202-737-0690.
