Remote Examination Discontinuance
The Michigan Department of Insurance Financial Services (DIFS) has instructed its licensing examination vendor, PSI Services, LLC, to discontinue all remote proctored insurance examinations for the state of Michigan.
The option for individuals to take insurance examinations remotely was originally introduced in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. However, with the conclusion of that emergency and following a review of ongoing security risks associated with remote proctored exams in uncontrolled environments, DIFS has determined that the discontinuance of remote testing is necessary.
Effective June 10, 2025, new registrations for remote insurance examinations will no longer be accepted.
Please note the following:
- Candidates who are already registered for a remote examination may still take the examination if it is scheduled to be administered on or before June 30, 2025.
- Any remote examination scheduled after June 30, 2025, must be rescheduled and taken in person at an authorized PSI testing center. There will be no additional fee for rescheduling.
