(LANSING, MICH) The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) Director Anita Fox today announced Laura Hall’s return to the department as Senior Chief Deputy Director.
"We welcome back Laura in her new role as Senior Chief Deputy Director,” said Director Fox. “Laura is a dedicated public servant and leader. Her experience and knowledge will benefit DIFS in protecting Michigan consumers and advancing the department’s mission to ensure access to safe and secure insurance and financial services fundamental for the opportunity, security, and success of Michigan residents.”
Laura rejoins DIFS after serving as the Director of Policy, Communications, and Engagement at the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP). Before joining MiLEAP in 2024, Laura was the Communications Director at DIFS where she led a team to develop and execute strategic communication efforts to advance the department’s mission, served as the department’s Public Information Officer, and coordinated with partners inside and outside of state government on a variety of initiatives.
As Senior Chief Deputy Director, Laura is responsible for overseeing the ongoing operations of all areas of DIFS and its regulation of the insurance and financial industries.
