Family Support Subsidy Program

The Family Support Subsidy (FSS) Program provides financial assistance to families that include a child with severe developmental disabilities. The intent is to help make it possible for children with developmental disabilities to remain with or return to their birth or adoptive families. The program provides a monthly payment of $222.11. Families are able to use this money for special expenses incurred while caring for their child.

  • Child must be younger than 18 years of age and live in the family home in Michigan.

Annual Family Survey:

Each year, parents or guardians of children enrolled in the Family Support Subsidy program are invited to complete an anonymous survey.  This survey is used to gather the parent/guardian’s opinion on the program’s helpfulness in meeting their child’s special needs, identification of the ways in which the subsidy was used and overall view of program administration.

Please click on the link below to take the survey.  IMPORTANT:  Please do not complete this survey if your child is NOT enrolled in the Family Support Subsidy program.
