Gareth Lifton
Senior Vice President, AECOM
Gareth Lifton is a Senior Vice President in AECOM’s Global Advisory practice, where he works with infrastructure owners worldwide to improve asset management and maximize value from asset portfolios. He brings more than 40 years of experience in infrastructure asset management and capital planning across public and private sectors globally. Prior to joining AECOM, Gareth was a Managing Director at KPMG US, leading their national Asset Management practice and later the Environment and Sustainability practice for state and local government clients. Before that, he served as Global Head of Infrastructure Asset Management at CH2M and as General Manager at Scottish Water, where he led long-term asset planning and managed an annual capital program of approximately $1 billion. He has also previously worked as an Infrastructure Asset Manager for a number of power and water utilities in the UK.
He has worked on all aspects of Infrastructure Asset Management including the development and implementation of policies, strategies, business plans, business case evaluations, capital program development and risk management methodologies. Gareth was actively involved in developing the ISO 55000 Asset Management standards, is a member of the ISO TC251 technical committee, serves on the Board of Advisers at Cornell University’s Brooks Center for Infrastructure, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Asset Management.
