DPW Director, City of Mt. Pleasant
Jason Moore brings over 25 years of progressive leadership in municipal public works to the panel. As Director of Public Works for the City of Mt. Pleasant, he oversees a comprehensive division that includes Engineering, Streets, Water, Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF), Airport, and Refuse & Recycling operations. His career began as an Engineering Aide and GIS Specialist, advancing through Assistant Director to his current role, giving him deep, hands-on expertise across the full lifecycle of infrastructure asset management.
Jason leads major capital improvement programs funded by DWSRF grants, Act 51, and utility bonding. He manages complex RFPs and contract awards, implements asset management systems, and modernizes operations and job descriptions. His practical experience spans water main rehabilitation, pavement management, airport operations, and integrated departmental coordination.
A graduate of the Michigan Public Services Institute and an Asset Management Champion from the 2022 cohort, Jason holds coursework in Computer Science from Baker College and an AutoCAD certificate. He remains actively engaged in GIS, data-driven decision-making, and innovative public works solutions that strengthen community infrastructure.
