The Bureau of Investments manages the State of Michigan’s investment portfolio. This includes overseeing funds for the State of Michigan Retirement System, 401(k) and 457 plans, and several important state trust funds—such as the Natural Resources Trust Fund, Veterans’ Trust Fund, and the Michigan Education Trust. It also manages the state’s common cash, which is used for Michigan’s day-to-day expenses.
