Language Accessibility

In accordance with 2023 PA 241 to ensure timely and accurate access to services the Office of the Child Advocate (OCA) will notify the public of the availability of language access services and provide clear information on how language access services can be requested. Notices will be provided in the most commonly spoken languages by individuals with limited English proficiency who are likely to interact with the Office of the Child Advocate. Such communication will assist individuals with limited English proficiency in understanding the services provided by the Office of the Child Advocate, which can increase public trust and confidence. 

Requests for language translation or interpretation services or complaints about non-compliance can be made using one of the following methods:

De conformidad con la ley pública 241 de 2023 (2023 PA 241), para garantizar el acceso oportuno y preciso a los servicios, la Oficina del Defensor del Menor (Office of the Child Advocate, OCA) notificará al público sobre la disponibilidad de servicios de acceso lingüístico y proporcionará información clara sobre cómo solicitarlos. Los avisos se proporcionarán en los idiomas más hablados por las personas con dominio limitado del inglés que probablemente interactúen con la Oficina del Defensor del Menor. Dicha comunicación ayudará a las personas con dominio limitado del inglés a comprender los servicios prestados por la oficina, lo que puede aumentar la confianza pública.
