Grand Traverse Overall Supply (GTOS) is a Superfund site located at 10725 Cherry Bend Road. Since 1953, historical operations included commercial laundering and dry-cleaning services. Waste and process waters were discharged to Cedar Creek, a dry well onsite, or seepage lagoons until 1977 when GTOS started discharging to the sanitary sewer. Dry-cleaning operations ended in 1987.
Due to the discovery of groundwater contamination from the site, GTOS was placed on the National Priority List in 1983. EPA has since performed soil excavation, soil vapor extraction, and groundwater pump-and-treat activities for VOCs, TCE, and PCE.
In June 2026, EGLE requested that groundwater be sampled for PFAS due to their use in dry-cleaning activities. Several onsite monitoring wells were sampled for PFAS, and the highest exceedances were 33.3 ppt PFNA (compared to 6) and 21.7 ppt PFOS (compared to 16).
