Marcy's Cleaner (Howell, Livingston County)
Marcy’s Cleaners, located at 920 Grand River Avenue, is the location of a former dry cleaner. EGLE has been investigating the site for chlorinated volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, lead, methane and hydrocarbons for many years. In 2024, PFAS was sampled and 11 monitoring wells were over criteria, the highest of which had 1,000 ppt PFHxS (compared to 51 ppt) and 300 ppt PFOA (compared to 8 ppt). Elevated concentrations of PFAS were also found in storm sewer sample results. Groundwater flow direction is thought to be to the south-southwest.
