Former Adept Plastics and Tribar Manufacturing (Wixom, Oakland County)
This site, located at 30450 Beck Road, was formerly used by Adept Plastics and Tribar Manufacturing (as Plant 4). The property had a wastewater treatment system for metal plating. In 2018, EGLE WRD collected a stormwater sample from on-site catch basin upstream of the detention pond and found PFOS at 8,000 ppt. PFOS was detected at 150 ppt (compared to 16 ppt) in a 15-20 foot temporary monitoring well, along with 6:2 FTSA at 160 ppt, PFHxA at 160 ppt, PFPeA at 450 ppt, and PFBA at 100 ppt. The second temporary well sampled at 20-25 feet was non-detect for PFOS but had lower detections of PFPeA and PFHxA (46 and 20 ppt, respectively). Groundwater flow is presumed to be to the west. Storm sewers onsite discharge to Walled Lake approximately 1.2 miles from the site.
