Beverly Road Dump (Taylor, Wayne County)
Beverly Road Dump, located at 6775 Inkster Road, was an unlicensed landfill that operated from the 1960s to the 1970s. Industrial waste is known to have been disposed of here. A Baseline Environmental Assessment was completed at the site for Brownfield redevelopment. Multiple monitoring wells assessing shallow groundwater contained PFAS at concentrations above drinking water criteria. The highest exceedances were 510 ppt PFOS (compared to 16) and 78 ppt PFOA (compared to 8). The shallow groundwater flow direction is unknown but is anticipated to be to the east, southeast, or west, toward the Douglas and Kelly Drain. The Douglas and Kelly Drain run along the southern and eastern portions of the property. Ecorse River is located ~0.5 mile west of the site.
