Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT)
MCAT certification is a limited certification which provides individuals with basic education in assessment administration. Certification is achieved by attending a 2 day course and passing the STC MCAT exam with a score of 75% or higher. Individuals who hold MCAT certification may not sign an assessment roll.
The State Tax Commission is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the June 2026 Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) program to be held June 4th and 5th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in Okemos. The exam will be on June 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the same location. Fully completed applications must be received in our office no later than May 27, 2026 to be considered for the June 2026 MCAT Okemos Program.

The State Tax Commission is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the June 2026 Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) program to be held June 25th and 26th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in Gaylord. The exam will be on June 29th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the same location. Fully completed applications must be received in our office no later than June 5, 2026 to be considered for the June 2026 MCAT Gaylord Program.

An organization wishing to sponsor and offer a MCAT course, must complete all documents contained within the MCAT Organization Program Packet (Organization Application, Organization Security Agreement, Instructor Agreement and Agreement to Proctor an Examination) and submit the completed packet to the State Tax Commission.
