Welcome to the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists website! Occupational Therapists are regulated by the Department and Board through the Public Health Code and the Occupational Therapists General Rules.

 

In July 2026, the Governor signed Public Act 40 of 2026 and Public Act 42 of 2026 into law, permitting Michigan to begin the process of participating in the Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact. Pursuant to the laws’ timelines, the Bureau does not expect the compact’s privilege to practice process to begin in Michigan until early 2028. Please monitor this webpage for additional information and updates.
