    When contacting the Licensing Division, you may be asked to provide your license/application number and agency name. Your license/application number will begin with the numbers "370".

    Professional Investigators Agency The company is formed at the state level as a corporation, limited liability company, etc. Please contact the Corporations Division for more information on how to form a company in Michigan.
    Professional Investigators Branch This is a license for an alternative location(s) in Michigan. You must have an active Professional Investigators Agency license to apply for a branch license.

    Apply For:

    If:

    Initial Application

    You want a new license and:

    • you have never been issued this license type in Michigan; or
    • the Qualifying Officer & Agency has never held this license type together in Michigan.

    Renewal

    Your active license is about to expire, and you wish to continue licensure.

    Relicensure

    Your license is in a lapsed status.

    Reinstatement

    Your license is currently suspended.

    Renewal Information:

    License Type: Renewal Fee: Renews:
    Professional Investigator Agency $300 Renewal Fee Every 3 years at the end of the month of issuance of the license.
    Professional Investigator Branch $125 Renewal Fee Every 3 years at the end of the month of issuance of the license.

     

    Late Renewal Information:

    The license does not have a late renewal period. 

     

    Relicensure Information:

    If the license is in a lapsed status, apply for relicensure.
