Reinstatement of an Adjuster License

Resident Adjuster Reinstatement – Adjuster for the Insured (Public Adjuster) and Insurance Adjuster (Independent Adjuster):

A resident adjuster may become inactive due to non-payment of the annual renewal fee by March 31 or the surrender of their license.

Non- Resident Adjuster Reinstatement – Adjuster for the Insured (Public Adjuster) and Insurance Adjuster (Independent Adjuster):

A non-resident adjuster may become inactive due to non-payment of the annual renewal fee by March 31, Suspension for Compliance, or the surrender of their license.

  • If the license has been inactive less than 12 months
    • The applicant is not required to take an examination or provide proof of successful completion of an examination if requesting the same authority previously held.
    • An Electronic Non-Resident Adjuster Licensing (NRAL) application must be submitted through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) website.  Please be aware that non-resident adjuster applicants must be licensed in the state in which their principle place of residence or business is maintained for all lines of authority requested in Michigan, if their resident state licenses adjusters.
