MDCR Announces Public Portal to Provide Access to Services Online

For Immediate Release

Lansing – Today the Michigan Department of Civil Rights is announcing the rollout of a new tool intended to enhance efficiency, transparency, and public trust. The Public Portal leverages the State of Michigan MiLogin application to provide an online platform where residents can request several MDCR services, submit documents, and view updates.

“As public servants, MDCR values both transparency and using technology to make our services more efficient,” said MDCR Executive Director John E. Johnson, Jr. “Through the funding increases in previous years, we were able to invest in modernizing our processes to provide the best possible experience to Michiganders.”

Accessible through the website at michigan.gov/mdcr, the Public Portal will reduce staff time spent on administrative tasks like phone conversations and accepting and processing mail. At the same time, the portal will allow the public to communicate with staff, submit digital documents, and automatically view service updates. The services available through the portal include complaint investigation, Freedom Of Information Act filings, and outreach requests like training or public speakers. The direct link to the Public Portal is https://www.michigan.gov/mdcr/public-portal.
