Michigan Relay Service

Michigan Relay is a communications system that allows hearing persons and Deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired persons to communicate by telephone. Hamilton Relay is the contracted service provider for Michigan Relay. Hamilton Relay works with the local exchange carriers in Michigan to provide this service. Users may reach Michigan Relay by dialing 7-1-1.

Michigan Relay is fast and easy to use. There is no additional charge to use this service. Only normal telephone charges will be applied. There are no limits to the length or number of calls you place.

The Division on Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing (DODDBHH) is a state agency within the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. This state office concentrates on helping to improve the lives of Michigan's Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing citizens. Their mission is affirming the indisputable right of Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Persons to secure effective communication. It receives input from its 13-member citizens Advisory Council appointed by the Governor. Services include Technical Support, Information and Referral, Accommodations, Interpreter Information and Services.
