Michigan Veteran Homes - Veteran Affairs Benefits
Benefits and Cost of Care
Michigan Veteran Homes is an independent, nonprofit organization, separate from the VA. So, while gaining veteran healthcare coverage from the VA is different from gaining admission to VA Homes, we can still help you make the most of your benefits.
The Cost of Care
Every year, the MVFA Board of Directors determines the cost of care. Currently, rates for October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, are as follows:
Veterans Fees
Nursing Care
- $195.19 per day (October 1 - December 31, 2024)
- $203.67 per day (January 1 - September 30, 2025)
Domiciliary Care (MVH D.J. Jacobetti ONLY)
- $3,063.00 per month (October 1 - December 31, 2024)
- $3,140.00 per month (January 1 - September 30, 2025)
Non-Veterans Fees
Nursing Care
- $339.29 per day (October 1 - December 31, 2024)
- $347.77 per day (January 1 - September 30, 2025)
However, the cost for each individual member is determined by a monthly assessment, which is based on a member's ability to pay.* To calculate a price as fair as possible, our team will consider a person's assets, income, marital status and dependent expenses.
VA Benefits
To help offset costs, veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces may qualify for VA benefits, including long-term care, extended care, short-term stays and rehabilitation care. See if a daily stipend is available through the Veterans Affairs’ Aid and Attendance Program.
