I was part of the second class that was held at MYCA. I can’t imagine where my life would be had I not started there and built up a good foundation. Because of this program I enjoyed a long military career and now I’m back in college studying electrical engineering. It built my confidence and taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to I’ve enjoyed many successes I’ve pushed through and persevered many challenges using the tools that were given to me while I was a teenager there. I will never forget the cadre that took the time and invested in me and made me the man I am today. The husband and father that I have become.

The change we saw in my son after completing the acclimation phase was amazing! More than we could have hope for! This program is exceptional. The staff is the right mix of caring and toughness. I see great things ahead for my son!

I am a graduated Cadet from cycle 9. I'm now 32 years old with a family of my own and a successful career in the medical field. Had it not been for this program, I honestly don't know where I would be at today, but I promise you the odds were not that great when I was 18. This school was my last chance at success. I will forever be grateful to all the staff of MYCA and the teachers who genuinely take their time to help every cadet excel where they struggle. Not everyone is born with the same privileges as others. I didn't have very good direction or parenting as an adolescent. My grandparents did what they could to help raise me, but my mother was just not a good role model to look up to. THIS PROGRAM CHANGED MY LIFE!!! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART♡ #Hurrah!

“It was the hardest, best time of my life.”

“I miss the feeling I had coming in on the first day. The waking up early, mad at everything and wondering why I'm doing this. Then skip forward to the halfway point between starting and graduating. I miss telling myself I’m halfway there, halfway until graduation, and looking back at my first day, just wishing I could tell myself there's nothing to worry about, this is for the better. My life will change. Then of course graduation, that silent bus ride, those memories of counting on your brothers to be there, helping your platoon out, and how the cadre never once gave up on you, only pushed you to never give up on yourself.
Love the MYCA and I wish I could go back. I have a beautiful wife, a newborn baby, and a terrific job at Ford. All thanks to this Academy. So please parents, push your kids to stay, the cadre there are wonderful and there is no amount of joy compared to watching your child graduate and strive.”
