About Michigan's Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) for public water supplies

A maximum contaminant level (MCL) is the maximum amount of a contaminant allowed in a public drinking water supply. Public water supplies are required to do this monitoring. MCLs are based on average detections over time.
