Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT)

MCAT certification is a limited certification which provides individuals with basic education in assessment administration.  Certification is achieved by attending a 2 1/2 day course held through an approved outside organization and passing the STC MCAT exam with a score of 75% or higher.

An organization wishing to sponsor and offer a MCAT course, must complete all documents contained within the MCAT Organization Program Packet (Organization Application, Organization Security Agreement, Instructor Agreement and Agreement to Proctor an Examination) and submit the completed packet to the State Tax Commission.

MCAT Courses:

The State Tax Commission is pleased to announce they are sponsoring five Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) Courses in 2020 at a cost of $150.

Each course will be limited to 35 students.  MCAT certification is a limited certification which provides individuals with basic education in assessment administration.  Certification is achieved by attending a 2 1/2 day course and passing the STC MCAT online exam with a score of 75% or higher.  Individuals who hold MCAT certification may not sign an assessment roll.

 

The February course will be held February 12 and 13, 2020 at the Green Oak Township Hall, 10001 Silver Lake Road, Brighton, MI.  Class sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The exam will be online on February 17, 2020.  Registration forms must be received no later than January 20, 2020.

The April course will be held April 18, 2020 and April 25, 2020 at the Holiday Inn Big Rapids, 1005 Perry Avenue, Big Rapids, MI.  Class sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The exam will be online on April 27, 2020.  Registration forms must be received no later than March 6, 2020.

The June course will be held on June 6, 2020 and June 13, 2020 at the Novi City Hall, 45175 West 10 Mile Road, Novi, MI.  Class sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The exam will be online on June 15, 2020.  Registration forms must be received no later than May 1, 2020.
