Who We Are

Welcome to the Michigan Administrative Hearing System (MAHS), an independent and autonomous Agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Created through Executive Order 2011-4, MAHS is comprised of the administrative hearing functions previously vested in the old State Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules, the Michigan Employment Security Board of Review, the Michigan Tax Tribunal, the Workers' Compensation Appellate Commission, and the Workers' Compensation Board of Magistrates.

MAHS is the nation's largest "central panel" of hearing officers and administrative law judges, and provides hearings for most agencies within state government. Our goal to provide fair, timely, efficient and unbiased administrative law services meets and implements Governor Rick Snyder's plan to streamline government.
