May 1, 2019 – The Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) is required by the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (MRTMA) to develop a plan to promote and encourage participation in the marijuana industry by people from communities that have been disproportionately impacted by marijuana prohibition and enforcement and to positively impact those communities.
The MRA is requesting the public participate in a survey to help develop and implement this provision of MRTMA. Public opinion will be requested regarding the following subjects:
- What criteria should be used to identify communities that have been disproportionately impacted by marijuana prohibition and enforcement?
- How should the MRA encourage those communities’ participation in the marijuana industry and how should those individuals be selected?
- What services should the MRA offer to qualifying individuals from disproportionately impacted communities?
The survey is now available. The MRA is requesting that interested individuals complete the survey by May 8, 2019.
The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MRAsurvey
Any questions should be directed to the Marijuana Regulatory Agency at 517-284-8599 or MRA-Adult-Use-Marijuana@michigan.gov.
