Producer/Individual - Insurance
Producer - Individual
A primary mission of this agency is to protect the public from dishonest and untrustworthy persons and business entities. One way we do this is through the licensure process. A license is a privilege, not a right. To receive and maintain a license in Michigan, an insurance producer (commonly referred to as an insurance agent) must be at least 18 years old, must complete any pre-licensing and continuing education required by law, must successfully pass any examinations required by law, and must not have committed any of the 9 acts that are listed as causes for license denial or revocation in MCL 500.1239(1). Additionally, any of the 7 actions listed in MCL 500.1239(2) may be cause for denial of licensure.
