Over the past two decades, infrastructure organizations have made significant investments in asset management, building asset inventories, collecting condition data, developing asset management plans, and adopting risk-based approaches. Yet major infrastructure failures continue to occur, raising an important question: how do we better translate asset management capability into measurable improvements in service, resilience, and customer outcomes?
This session explores the shift from asset management to asset performance, challenging leaders to focus less on acquiring perfect data and developing additional plans, and more on making decisions that create value. Through real-world examples and emerging leading practices, participants will learn how leading organizations are linking capability, decision-making, and outcomes to improve reliability, quantify investment trade-offs, and communicate the value of infrastructure investment. The session concludes with a call to action for infrastructure leaders to move beyond managing assets and toward delivering measurable performance.
