Culvert Training and Resources
In 2022, the TAMC adopted the Policy for Collection of Culvert Inventory and Condition Data. Part of the TAMC’s mission is to collect physical inventory and condition data on all roads, bridges, traffic signals and culverts in Michigan.
The TAMC has dedicated the collection of culvert inventory and condition data as an eligible activity for reimbursement and continues to promote and develop guidance and resources for local agencies looking to collect and share culvert data.

The Center for Technology and Training through Michigan Tech provides annual training on culvert data collection. Please check the TAMC Data Collection Training schedule for upcoming opportunities.

Michigan Non-NBI Culvert Structure Inspection Guide
The Michigan Non-NBI Culvert Structure Inspection Guide (Mi-NCSIG) has been developed to provide culvert safety inspectors and culvert owners with guidance for meeting the consistency standards required to submit culvert data to the TAMC.
Michigan Local Agency Culvert Inventory Pilot Evaluation Report
In 2018, the TAMC conducted a Michigan Local Agency Culvert Inventory Pilot Evaluation Report for the inspection and inventory of culverts on the local road system.
