PA 3 amends MPSERS One Time Deposit payments

Effective Feb. 14, Public Act 3 of 2023 was signed into law, amending section 147c(2) to include a one-time distribution to eligible districts and other entities to pay down the state’s pension liability related to the operation of Section 81b of the Public School Employees Retirement Act (MCL 38.1381b). The amendment provides inclusion of both community colleges and libraries to also receive allocations.

Beginning in mid-March, ORS will invoice the first 147c(2) MPSERS One Time Deposit amount. The deposit will be invoiced from mid-March through mid-August under the Additional Retirement Contributions line of the employer statement with UAAL Rate Stabilization invoices. Two amounts will appear on your statement together as two different line items:
