Filters For Foster Care

This program recognizes that foster children may be especially vulnerable to the risk of lead exposure and ensures access to safer drinking water regardless of location.
The Filters For Foster Care Program includes:
- A certified lead-reducing water filter and replacement cartridges.
- Optional notifications to remind households to replace cartridges.
- Health education resources.
A household that may be eligible for Filters for Foster Care:
Is a licensed residential foster care provider currently caring for foster children.
Has—or is unsure if it has—lead-containing plumbing, including any of the following:
- Lead or galvanized plumbing.
- A lead service line connecting the home to the street.
- Faucets or fittings sold before 2014.
