Nationally Recognized Camp Accrediting Organizations

Michigan law and administrative rules provide minimum standards that child care organizations must meet in order to operate a camp.  In addition to Michigan statute and administrative rules, some camps choose to become accredited in an effort to have practices that are up to date and research based.  Camp national accrediting standards represent best practice for those camps that voluntarily seek accreditation.  The industry “peer review” accrediting process drives accountability and continuous improvement to ensure a quality camp program.  The two State of Michigan recognized accrediting bodies are listed on this page.
