Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids Hosts Tribute to Fallen Heroes

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids (MVHGR) held a tribute in recognition of Memorial Day for fallen heroes at the home on May 30, 2022 at 2950 Monroe Avenue NE, Grand Rapids.

The tribute, held on the day historically recognized as Memorial Day, included a ceremony to honor the brave service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms Americans hold so dear.

Remarks were led by Capt. Joshua Twiest, chaplain, Michigan National Guard; Theresa Robinson, past commander of the United Veterans Council of Kent County; and Bruce Kalish, chaplain of MVHGR. The ceremony included a posting of the colors led by the MVHGR Member Color Guard and a rifle salute and Taps led by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
