Storage Tanks

• Storage Tanks Overview
The Storage Tanks Program encompasses both Aboveground Storage Tanks & Underground Storage Tanks, and is administered by the Remediation Division of the Department of Environmental Quality.


Aboveground Storage Tanks
Click here for: This program includes regulatory activities and oversight of tanks and containers designed to store and dispense three types of products: flammable liquids and combustible liquids tanks, liquefied petroleum gas containers, and compressed natural gas systems.
Underground Storage Tanks
Click here for: This program includes regulatory activities and oversight of the design, construction, installation and maintenance of regulated tanks under Part 211, Underground Storage Tank Regulations, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA).
