Rob Surber is the Director of Enterprise Shared Services Delivery for the State of Michigan, Department of Technology, Management and Budget. As director, he is responsible for a number of services that support all state agencies related to data warehouse services, document management, collaboration, information management, and geographic information services. He currently is one of the implementation sponsors for the Governor’s Enterprise Information Management (EIM) program. This program seeks to create an open and transparent “share first” environment for all state government information. As the Central Data Agency representative on the Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC), Rob seeks to bring his expertise and leadership to create a common data platform for all TAMC activities.
Rob has been providing data and information leadership since the office was appointed to the TAMC in 2004. Officially, he became the non-voting Central Data Agency representative in 2006. His office provides Michigan’s common base map, the Michigan Geographic Framework, used by all state and local road agencies to locate, integrate, and map PASER, inventory, and investment data in support of TAMC functions. His office also provides support for the TAMC website and dashboard activities.
