Nomination Guidance
On behalf of the Michigan Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) we are seeking nominations to recognize agencies and individuals for their efforts in asset management and the implementation of best practices.
Organizational Achievement Award
The TAMC has established the Organizational Achievement Award to acknowledge those agencies that have incorporated the principles of asset management and adopted an asset management plan to help guide their investment decisions. In addition, the TAMC Awards Program provides agencies around the state with excellent examples to establish their own programs and practices. All Public Act 51 road agencies are eligible to be nominated for this award.
Carmine Palombo Individual Achievement Award
The TAMC wants to recognize individuals providing outstanding support of Asset Management and the TAMC. Nominees for the Carmine Palombo Individual Achievement Award can include elected officials (state or local), support staff from state agencies, regional and metropolitan planning organizations, county road agencies, local units of government, the education community or other individuals involved in promoting asset management in Michigan.
Culvert Data Collection and Asset Management Excellence Award
The TAMC seeks to honor agencies or individuals that have significantly contributed to advancing culvert management practices in Michigan, ultimately enhancing transportation infrastructure resilience and sustainability.

The TAMC sincerely appreciates the continued dedication of Michigan’s transportation agencies and partners for their ongoing commitment to advancing asset management practices that strengthen our transportation system.
The TAMC includes representatives from MDOT, Michigan Municipal League (MML), Michigan Association of Counties (MAC), Michigan Townships Association (MTA), Michigan Association of Regions (MAR), Michigan Transportation Planning Association (MTPA), the County Road Association of Michigan (CRA), and the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget Center for Shared Solutions (MCSS). Transportation asset management is a process of managing public assets, such as roads and bridges, based on the long-range condition of the entire transportation system. The TAMC, created in 2002 by the Michigan Legislature, promotes the concept that the transportation system is unified, rather than separated by jurisdictional ownership.
