Apply to Operate a Camp

  • “Children’s Camp” means a residential, day, troop, or travel camp that provides care and supervision and is conducted in a natural environment for more than 4 children, apart from the children’s parents, relatives, or legal guardians, for 5 or more days in a 14-day period.

  • “Adult Foster Care Camp” or “adult camp” means an adult foster care facility with the approved capacity to receive more than 4 adults who shall be provided foster care. An adult foster care camp is a facility located in a natural or rural environment.

  • “Residential Camp” means a camp that provides care on a 24-hr basis at a regulated campsite.

  • “Day Camp” means a camp that provides care more than 4 but less than 24 hours a day.

  • “Travel Camp” means a camp that provides care on a 24-hour basis that is not stationed at a specific campsite.

  • “Troop Camp” means a camp sponsored by the Boys Scouts of America or the Girl Scouts of the USA that provides care on a 24-hour basis and is not stationed at a specific campsite.

  •  “Campsite” means an outdoor setting that has natural or man-made features available for outdoor living or activities and is located where a camp is operated.
