Sarah Szurpicki

Director

Sarah Szurpicki joined the Office of Sixty by 30 as director in March 2022. In this role, Sarah will focus on implementing and administering policies and programs designed to ensure the state meets the Governor’s goal of having at least 60% of Michigan’s population obtain a college degree or in-demand certificate. She will oversee all the operational activities and implementation of the Governor’s signature workforce initiatives such as Futures for Frontliners, Michigan Reconnect and other affiliated programs.

Since 2011, Sarah Szurpicki has been a Partner at New Solutions Group, LLC, a Detroit-based consulting firm that supports clients who serve the public good with policy research, program design and implementation, and strategic leadership. She also worked with Michigan Future, Inc, a nonpartisan think tank focused on growing prosperity for Michigan families, for nine years, most recently as Vice President. At Michigan Future, her work was focused on the relationship between education and the labor market, education for a knowledge-based economy, and retaining a talented workforce. Sarah graduated from Harvard in 2003 and the Great Lakes Leadership Academy's Leadership Advancement Program in 2012. She lives in Detroit with her husband and two daughters.
