Special Grant Opportunities
Hunger-Free Campus Activities Grant
This grant funding supports public, Tribal, and independent institutions of higher education in Michigan in implementing sustainable solutions to addressing student basic needs on campus, and specifically food insecurity of students. Ideally these strategies and solutions are in partnership with local and/or state organizations that address food insecurity.
Eligible Applicants
- Community Colleges
- Tribal Colleges
- Public Colleges and Universities
- Independent Colleges and Universities
Grant Award Amount and Timeline
- Up to $100,000 for approved sustainable solutions to address student food insecurity
- Short cycle grant of approximately 6 months
- Grant term ends September 30, 2026
Application Window
- Hunger-Free Campus Activity Grant Applications are due on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
- The Hunger-Free Campus Activities Grant Application document must be used to apply.
- Hunger-Free Campus Activities Grant Applications must be submitted via email using the Application document to MiLEAP-OHE-GrantsApply@michigan.gov.
