LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Veteran Homes D.J. Jacobetti (MVHDJJ) is honored to be accepting a donation of more than $7,500 from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) 35-1 out of Menominee. The donation will be presented on Saturday, August 13 at 1 p.m. at 425 Fisher St., Marquette, MI 49855.

The D.J. Jacobetti Ride, which has raised $48,000 since 2014, is held annually by the members of CVMA 35-1 to raise funds to directly benefit the veteran members of the home. Club members are hosting a breakfast buffet provided by the Sons of the Legion and a 50/50 raffle prior to departing the Little Lake American Legion Post #349 by police escort at 12 p.m. The riders will travel directly to MVHDJJ for the check presentation before returning to the post at 6 p.m. for a BBQ. All proceeds from the ride and 50/50 raffle will be donated to the home.

While this event is closed to the public, media are invited to attend to capture the check presentation and remarks by CVMA Commander Joe Kerekes. Media should plan to be in place at the back parking lot no later than 12:45 p.m. Media are asked to kindly RSVP to Michael Kroll at 517-285-9734 or krollm2@michigan.gov.
