Mike McGroarty
Director of Analytics and Reporting
Mike McGroarty oversees the design, operation and use of the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System, including the front-end MI School Data public and secure education information web portal. Other uses of the MSLDS include meeting federal and state compliance reporting requirements, providing data to researchers and filling custom data requests. Mike also serves as CEPI’s Chief Data Steward with the State of Michigan and contributes on the MDE Data Governance Board.
Mike joined CEPI in 2002 as a database administrator. He served a brief stint at MDE as a Data Quality Specialist before returning to CEPI in 2007 as the Longitudinal Data Manager, a role he held until he became the Director of Analytics and Reporting in 2018.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Ferris State University and a master’s degree in information systems – business intelligence from Baker College.
