Training resources are available to help you provide the best care possible. We offer a variety of training, both in person and virtually to provide flexible, accessible learning opportunities for all participants. Our offerings are designed to support your professional growth, enhance program quality, and ensure you stay informed on current best practices and licensing requirements.
If you operate a child care center, orientation is available several times a year. If you would like to attend an orientation session, please call our main line at 517-284-9730 or contact your licensing consultant for availability information.

The Child Care Licensing Bureau is pleased to invite you to participate in training on the New Rules for Child Care Homes.
To accommodate providers' schedules and preferences, training is available through in-person sessions, live Zoom presentations, or a self-paced virtual training option. To ensure all providers have an opportunity to register, please sign up for only one training session.
A self-paced training option for the new child care home rules is now live. The new course is accessible through the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children's (MiAEYC) Knowledge Center. To register for this training and access it, please log in to your existing MiAEYC account, or create a user account in the MiAEYC Knowledge Center. This is a free account that allows you to access training and resources from the MiAEYC Knowledge Center. If you've previously attended a Michigan AEYC event through the Knowledge Center, you likely already have an account. If not, click create account. When registering, make sure to enter your MiRegistry ID in your user account to receive credit hours in MiRegistry. For additional support, please utilize the live chat feature or call 866.648.3224.
All providers will need to complete a training session by December 31, 2026.
To support providers, the Child Care LIcensing Bureau is providing training, has updated the technical assistance manual, and is mailing new rule books.The training slides for new home rules training for providers are now available to view or download. You will not receive credit for reviewing the slides. All providers must attend a training session in order to receive credit.

Finally, we have an option for you to complete the training through a virtual self-paced video (coming soon). You can access this video at any time and finish it at your own pace, as long as it is completed by December 31, 2026. More information will be released in a future edition of the Friday Flyer once this training option is live.
Reminder: Please only sign up for one training session so that all providers have a chance to register. We will ensure that everyone has access to training and will add more sessions as needed, so there is no need to sign up for multiple sessions.
