About the Dual Enrollment Task Force

Established by Sec. 706 of 2025 Public Act 22, the Dual Enrollment Task Force supports the state’s broader educational efforts, including the Sixty by 30 goal to increase the number of working-age adults with a postsecondary degree or certificate to 60% by the year 2030. As part of its charge, the group will investigate dual enrollment as a statewide priority and support MiLEAP’s Office of Higher Education (OHE) in navigating the educational landscape and recommending statutory changes to remove barriers for students.

The Dual Enrollment Task Force is a group of seven individuals representing executive, legislative, and public interests who will study, develop, and recommend policies to improve access to, oversight of, and alignment of dual enrollment programs across Michigan's K-12 and postsecondary education institutions. The Task Force will explore the potential role of MiLEAP’s Office of Higher Education (OHE) in managing dual enrollment and will develop strategies to align these initiatives with broader statewide education efforts. This group will make recommendations to improve course transferability, propose statewide goals for participation and completion, and identify statutory changes and incentives to remove barriers and expand opportunities for students.

The Task Force will hold at least four meetings during the 2025-2026 fiscal year. A final report with official recommendations is due to the legislature by September 30, 2026, at which point the group will officially dissolve.
