Camp Licensing Renewals
Licensed children’s camps and campsites are required to submit renewal applications or updates annually by May 1.
During the renewal year of the license, renewal applications need to be submitted with payment of applicable fees.
To determine if your license is within the renewal year, look at the expiration date of the license.
- If the expiration date is within this calendar year (January-December), you must submit a renewal application with payment.
- If the expiration date is in the next calendar year, you submit an update Camp Program License and/or Camp Site License application. There is no payment required.
- Camp Administrator Background Check Forms (1326/RI030) if not already on file with the department.
- Proof of Accreditation if accredited by American Camping Association (ACA) or National Council of Accreditation (NCAP) Scouting America.
- Field Trip Schedule if the full camp takes trips away from the campsite.
- Daily schedule of the camp operation.
- Be prepared to input the camp’s operation schedule (Dates, Times of Sessions).
- Camp Site/Facility Map.
- Residential Camps: Last Environmental Health Inspection (EHI) Date and Rating
- Residential Camps: Last Qualified Fire Inspection (QFI) Date and Rating.
- Identify license renewal fee(s) because credit card payment is included in renewal application process. Fee is based on capacity of license.
Annual Renewal Steps for Camp Licensing

- Complete and submit the Environmental Health Inspection Request form to your Local Health Department with appropriate inspection fee. Residential camp licensees must have an Environmental Health Inspection (EHI) completed each year. For information on how to complete an EHI, see the link below. - Review your Fire Safety Inspection to determine that it has been completed within the past two years. A residential camp licensee must have a Qualified Fire Inspection (QFI) completed within the past two years for a SITE license renewal. For more information on how to schedule your biennial QFI, see the link below: Qualified Fire Safety Inspection and Plan Review
