MET Plans
MET Plans
Three plans, countless options.
MET offers three different plans to help you make the most of your education savings. You can purchase one plan or you can mix and match options to help meet your savings goals.
MET offers two university plans: Full Benefits , Limited Benefits , and one Community College plan.
Full Benefits
The Full Benefits Plan is a university plan. It provides full in-state tuition and mandatory fees at any Michigan public university, or tuition and mandatory fees at a Michigan public community college up to the number of credit hours purchased.
MET funds may also be directed to Michigan independent colleges, out-of-state schools or trade schools.
Limited Benefits
The Limited Benefits Plan is a university plan. It provides in-state tuition and mandatory fees at all 15 Michigan public universities up to 105 percent of the weighted average tuition of all Michigan public four-year universities. This plan might not cover the full cost of Michigan's most expensive institutions. Students who attend a school where tuition is not fully covered under the Limited Benefits Plan will receive the number of credit hours MET can purchase at the time of college enrollment.
MET funds may also be directed to Michigan independent colleges, out-of-state schools or trade schools.
Community College
The Community College Plan provides in-district tuition and mandatory fees at Michigan public community colleges. Some areas of the State are not within a community college district. Students who attend a community college out of their district will be responsible to pay the difference between the out-of-district and in-district tuition costs.
MET Community College Plan funds may be directed to a university, but it may not cover the same amount of credits it would have at a community college.
