General Statement of Duties:

Performs general police and fire fighting as a member of a combined police-fire unit; does related work as required.

Benefits:

  • Wages: $87,891 in 42 months or less.

  • K-9, Bike Patrol, Dive Team, SRT, Traffic Unit, FTO, Fire Inspector, Drone Operator, Detective Bureau, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MCOLES Physical Test Certification
  • MCOLES Written Test Certification
  • Current MCOLES Basic Police Officer Certification or Michigan Fire Certification High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of 60 college credits.
  • Prior Military, Police, or Fire Service may be considered in lieu of college credits upon record review & discussion.
  • Be 21 years of age at the time of application
  • Be a resident of the State of Michigan
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Have no felony convictions
  • Possess a valid Michigan drivers license
  • Possess good moral character / free from drug dependency
  • If required, must be able to pass the firefighter's agility test
  • Be eligible to be certified as a firefighter l and ll. Prior certification is strongly preferred but not mandatory.  
  • Meet all minimum standards as mandated by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and the Michigan Firefighters Training Council.
