POSITION SUMMARY:
The City of Grosse Pointe is accepting applications with the anticipation of hiring two full-time public safety officers. The City of Grosse Pointe Department of Public Safety is responsible for both police and fire services. Applicants shall have proof of MCOLES licensed or listenability. Certification of Fire Fighter II is preferred but not required. The applicants that earn the public safety officer position will be sponsored in the academy (s), if needed. The current work schedule is 12-hour shifts with every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday off. The City of Grosse Pointe provides both a defined benefit and a defined contribution plan for retirement. Lateral pay is offered to those with prior police or fire experience depending on years of service.
