Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers
1. Openable window ventilation must equal at least 4.5% of floor area unless central air conditioning is provided.
Proper ventilation reduces indoor pollutants and improves air quality.
A 10×10 room requires a window at least 2'3" by 2'.
2. Mechanical ventilation must operate whenever the building is occupied.
Ventilation systems should be inspected regularly.
3. Windows and doors used for ventilation must have 16‑mesh screens in good repair.
